For in town pujas (less than 50-mile radius)

  • Dakshina, whatever you offer him, to be paid directly to the priest.
  • $25 directly to be paid to the priest for travel cost. If the devotee chooses to pick up the priest for the puja and drop him back, they do not need to pay this amount.

For out-of-town pujas

  • Within the state but outside a 50-mile radius: perdiem rates for mileage, lodging and airfare (if applicable) will be charged. Suggested Dakshina for these out-of-town pujas is 50% of puja fees.
  • Out of state pujas: will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

HSEW does not collect Dakshina and other costs (travel, etc) mentioned above. They have to be paid directly to the priest. These amounts can be paid directly to the priest via cash or check. You can also pay the priest electronically via Zelle/Venmo if he uses any of those services.
